Marijuana use allowed in NJ, but not in our vacation rentals!

According to Patch.com, Gov. Phil Murphy signed three bills into law on Monday that make adult use of marijuana officially legal, and decriminalize small amounts of marijuana possession in New Jersey.

We are happy that NJ has decided that “New Jerseyans will no longer be subject to arrest and a criminal record for their personal use of marijuana.” However, we want to remind our guests that we still DO NOT allow smoking or vaping of any kind in our rental units. Just FYI and all!

‘Rescue dog’ saves man that rescued her!

TEANECK, NJ- It seems that the decision to adopt a German Shepherd saved Brian Meyers’ life. According to Patch.com, “Myers adopted Sadie in September from the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, and on Jan. 16 the rescued dog became the rescuer after the Teaneck resident suffered a stroke in his sleep.”

“He had fallen out of bed and was unable to get up when the dog noticed he was in distress. Sadie was able to keep Myers awake by licking his face and pulled him across the room to his cell phone, where he called for help, according to a Facebook post shared by the animal refuge.”

“Brian Myers, 59, was being released from the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, when he was greeted by his 6-year-old German shepherd Sadie. He was in tears and in good spirits as the dog came rushing over to lick his face.”

Video of the waves battering inlet during Nor’easter!

This past Monday saw heavy winds and high tides send sea water creeping over the seawall at the Manasquan Inlet in Point Pleasant Beach. The Inlet Drive was shut down for a bit as it flooded but storm-chasers were out on foot to capture video and pictures of the storm!

One video of note, that was carried by Patch.com, showed sea foam creeping onto Ocean Ave. at Inlet Dr. Watch the video now! The wayward videographer got smacked with a wave when he ventured too close to the edge of the bulkhead! (Sea foam in the face for you-bro!)

You can also catch another storm-chaser, Deanna Jividen, who filmed from the newly planted sand berms, that are being washed out! She begins her weather report with showing you her new Invisalign orthodontic trays but then comically steps out of her car  into the whipping winds without securing her hood only to be beaten mercilessly by its erratic flapping.
