Stay at the beach in May!

Booking a beach house stay in May on the Jersey Shore presents a plethora of advantages that make it an ideal choice for a serene getaway. Firstly, May often marks the end of off-peak season, translating to mild and sunny weather at discounted prices for accommodations. This not only allows travelers to enjoy the beach lifestyle at a fraction of the cost but also frees up the budget for indulging in other local attractions and experiences. Moreover, opting for a vacation rental stay during Spring ensures a tranquil environment with fewer crowds. Visitors or remote workers can relish the peace while basking in the sun without the hustle and bustle of tourists typically associated with peak summer season.

Additionally, May and June offer the perfect opportunity to explore the local restaurants. With fewer tourists, beachside restaurants and eateries offer unique dishes at off-season rates without the hassle of long waits to be seated. From fresh seafood delicacies to vibrant coastal cuisines, travelers can enjoy a variety of local offerings while seated dockside or overlooking the beach and boardwalk. Furthermore, the convenience of local mass transit options in shore towns, such as the train station in Point Pleasant Beach, provide easy access for guests who reside in New York City, Philadelphia and northern New Jersey. Guests can easily hop on the bus or the train from the city to their beach retreat on the evenings or weekends.

The beach town locals have the best tips for your vacation.

Before planning your getaway, it’s important to check the details. Each beach town along the Jersey Shore may have minimum stay requirements for guests booking vacation rental homes and cottages, ranging from 3 days to 30 days. It’s important to check with your realtor, seasonal landlord, or the details available on the property listing web page to ensure you understand the specific requirements. Keep in mind that properties with longer minimum stays often offer significant discounts during off-peak periods, making the overall cost comparable to a weekend-length stay. Therefore, if you opt for a 7-day minimum stay, such as Point Pleasant Beach requires, you have the flexibility to come and go throughout that timeframe. Even if you’re considering just an extended weekend stay, the discounted pricing for a longer rental period can be as economical as booking the initial preferred shorter weekend stay option.

Whether seeking relaxation or adventure, booking a beach house stay in May ensures an unforgettable escape with a blend of affordability, tranquility, local flavors, and convenient access to neighboring destinations. The residents know that this is the best time to plan your visit, so that you can experience beach life like a local at a great price!

Monopoly players can now own Boardwalk!

If you ever played Monopoly as a Gen X kid, then you know that the ultimate get was Boardwalk properties. I found myself with lots of railroads and Baltic Ave but Boardwalk and Park Place were the get!

Well, now the Borough of Seaside Heights is allowing the dream to come true as two business leases on the Boardwalk are up for grabs. According to Shorebeat news, “One of the properties, a former Dunkin’ Donuts and coffee shop on the boardwalk, and another running the boat ramp and a number of water sports activities on the south bay beach at Sunset Park. Bid specifications and deadlines were announced last week.”

Apparently, the Borough of Seaside Heights is not being as picky with tenants this time around for the new lease. “The building will be leased to the successful bidder for a minimum term of five years. It is open to anyone wishing to run a “food and beverage business, game or games of chance, or other retail business” as long as the retail business is permitted along the boardwalk,” Shorebeat reports. Read more.
