Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. Mayor Paul Kanitra spoke to almost a thousand people at the beach on Sunday, February 19, 2023, who showed support for a moratorium on the Wind Farm project, which began just off the Jersey Shore.
There have been over 9 endangered whales that have washed up on shores between New York and New Jersey since December 2022. Locals theorize the whales are being affected by the sonar exploration for the Wind project, which is pushing them into shipping lanes and causing fatal injuries.
